SOUND & VISION – MOBILE PINHOLE PROJECT
We were honored to have in attendance at Sound & Vision our friends from The Mobile Pinhole Project. If you don’t know about them you do now. What they’re doing is really cool. They drive around in a Smurf-blue Toyota Previa that’s been converted into a mobile pinhole camera, the “VanCam,” and visit with youngsters in neighborhoods around Los Angeles, giving them access to the visual arts in a very immediate and very impactful way. They provided us with a taste of their workshop at Sound & Vision. You climb inside a pitch-black chamber in the back of the VanCam and Jonas narrates you through the workings of pinhole photography as the whole process occurs in front of you. It’s a powerful experience on many levels. Here, we share with you some pinhole exposures from the VanCam.
