The Festival of Thump we hosted back in March was devoted to the four stroke, single piston engine and its adherents, and the thumper community showed up in throngs, all sporting engines similar in form but very different in execution. Last weekend we called upon the congregation to gather at Sunday Mass in support of our friend Scott Szegeski who runs Lightly Salted in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Scott’s surf shop suffered the ravages of Hurricane Sandy this past winter and was literally hung out to dry by the insurance companies so we rallied up the Deus Ex Machina community and hosted a Sunday Mass in his honor.
