Paint brush in hand…

One of the long awaited final touches on the Emporium of Post Modern Activities was  hand painted today. The Deus Script logo translated jumbo size on our barn hemlock perimeter roof. Come on down and have a look at the fine artistry for yourself

The Nevin

A good egg. A stand up guy. A solid dude. Whoever says they don’t make ‘em like they used to hasn’t met Nevin Pontious. An anomaly in all the right ways, this man is sweet as sugar, a commercial-grade workhorse, and an invigorating breath of fresh air. Occupation? World traveler. He first met up with us at a Camperdown swap meet during his eight-month motorcycle tour of Australia last year. Then he turned up in Venice a few weeks back to help us build the Emporium of Postmodern Activities. Now he’s off on a bicycle tour of Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras. History? In spades. His Greek ancestors had to flee the country after they burned down a Catholic … View More

Kawasaki H1 Mach 3

Now gracing the plinth at the Emporium of Postmodern Activities: one of the true beasts in the world of motorcycling—affectionately called the triple with the ripple—the Kawasaki H1 Mach 3. At the time of its release, this air-cooled, three-cylinder two-stroke was the fastest accelerating production motorcycle ever made. Clocking sub-13-second quarter-mile times, the H1 was a dangerous contender on the drag strip and even more of a menace on the streets, with its power-to-weight ratio causing serious mayhem upon its riders and its unmistakable exhaust note creating serious discomfort among the general public. Come to Venice and snag this behemoth before you end up on the wrong side of history. Full gallery and spec list here.

Portland via Venice

The hirsute Mr Jordan Hufnagel dropped his personal Portuer/City bike in to the Venice Emporium for the occasion of our opening shindig, probably the only time its sat unused for 24hrs we’d wager. The craftsmanship used in the construction of this velocipede would make a swiss watch maker weep…it must be something in the precipitation up there in the PNW. He tells us he’ll be closing the order book soon (to traverse South America on two wheels) so if you want to own a cycle your great, great grandchildren will remember you  by better drop him a line pronto…and look up the number for that dude who buys kidneys. The American

The first full-blown custom build to come out of the Emporium of Postmodern Activities, The American is not so much a statement as it is a well-crafted argument. It’s an argument against the Sturm und Drang of the Global Financial Crisis, against the notion that the U.S. doesn’t make things anymore, against the naysayers who have turned their backs on American creativity and workmanship. What began as a personal project for US Motorcycle Design Director, Michael Woolaway (aka Woolie), The American was conceived at the beginning of the Great Recession. Woolie’s goal was to take the most famous American-made, mile-dirt-track chassis called the C&J Low Boy (the winning-most, mile-dirt-track chassis ever built) and convert it into a street legal café … View More
